2016 Spring Golf Clinics
University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute and Forest Park Golf Course will be hosting golf clinics for individuals with physical disabilities in the Baltimore Metro community. Forest Park, one of the “Classic Five Golf Courses” in Baltimore, and UM Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute has been working together since 1991 providing golf instruction to persons recovering from an illness or injury. The clinics focus on the individual capabilities and offer modifications as needed.
The mission of our golf program is to provide persons with disabilities and a playing partner an opportunity to resume a hobby, develop skills to pursue a new leisure activity and to facilitate community inclusion.
We will be offering free instruction on Monday evenings with a new lesson each week. The first session will begin with a brief presentation on the latest adaptive golf aids and resources available including carts designed to assist golfers with mobility impairments on the course will be available to try as well as other assistive golf equipment. The clinics are open to both beginner and experienced golfers. Golf clubs are available if do not have any.
**Invite a Friend!: Golfers with a disability may invite a friend to take lessons with them**
