Rain A Non-issue for Adapted Sports Festival
For immediate release: September 14, 2015
With rain eminent on Saturday, the outlook for the 7th Annual Adapted Sports Festival was bleak. That didn’t stop Kevin Atherley, a skilled wheelchair basketball player, from getting on the court.
Kevin is a former University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute patient, coming to here following a car accident that led to the loss of part of his leg. Through the adapted sports program, Kevin’s confidence and positivity soared. Now, he’s a star player at Edinboro University and an inspiration to all who have suffered traumatic injuries. His dedication to the sport took the team inside, where veteran players and newbies had fun participating in adapted sports like basketball, scuba diving and tennis.
