Your Health: Fall Prevention

Falls, especially among older adults, are a significant public health problem, with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control reporting that one in three adults 65 years old and older experiences a fall each year. These falls can result in moderate to severe injuries, including hip fractures and head trauma, and can increase the risk of early death. In this interview, Greg Pirovolidis and Stefanie Ryan, physical therapists at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute, discuss how you can reduce your risk of falling.
